Yoga draws one to a state of rest at one’s own centre, inviting
connection without effort
I qualified as a yoga teacher at Ananda Kutir in Cape Town in 1991 and completed 3 years of remedial training. My style of teaching reflects the influence of Vini-yoga, inspired by the teachings of Sri T. Krishnamacharya and Desikachar. The practice focuses on co-ordinating posture (asana) and breathing (pranayama), to anchor us in the present moment and nurture body and spirit.
Movement is lead by the breath in sequences which prepare the body for holding postures more deeply. Students are encouraged to work with comfort and ease, where postures are adapted to suit their requirements, rather than straining the body to fit the posture. Knees and elbows may be bent, with the emphasis on lengthening the spine. The focus is on renewal, restoration and connection - giving priority to the special needs of each individual. Through regular practice, we develop strength, flexibility and stamina. We are more in touch with deeper aspects of ourselves and better resourced to face daily challenges.

Monday (general) Thursday (gentle /restorative): 6pm - 7pm
Tuesday: 9.15am - 10.15am
Drop in: R120 per class
5 x classes: R500 (valid for 6 weeks)
Yoga is offered in small classes for people with different needs and abilities. Beginners to intermediate students are welcome. Private, remedial, and ante natal are offered on request. I also have regular classes for employees in the work space
